S550 AMG Transmission issues...Help
Help! We have an 06 S550 AMG. The transmission felt like it was slipping. We didn't drive the car for about 5 months. We just got it started running the other day. Put in a new battery and had the oil changed. Now the transmission will not go into 3rd gear. It's fine in 1st and 2nd...but that can't be good, right? Any ideas? Is it safe to drive as long as we don't go into 3rd? Or will it do more harm than good. BTW...It's out of warranty.
