retractable hardtop oil leaking from roof
I have a 2003 SL 500. 40,000 miles Recently the roof got suck midway as I was opening it up. At first it would not go in either direction and eventually it closed. I noticed there appeared to be a small amount hydraulic oil on the passenger window and the roof molding on that side had buckled a little and had an oily residue. a trip to my mechanic and the hardtop opens and closes again as normal. My mechanic found no signs of a leak anywhere in the system. Now today with the roof closed oil dripped from the drivers side onto my arm while driving. My mechanic is puzzled and said there would be no hydraulics in the roof itself all the mechanisms are under the trunk. This makes sense as the roof is paneled so it can fold. Any body have ideas or experienced this themselves? Thanks in advance
