Default Oil change and reset

Looking for info on second A service(39000 miles), on 2007 C230 Sport. Want to do my own oil change and how to reset panel. Trying to save money before Christmas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume your C230 has condition based servicing intervals, if so changing the oil yourself inbetween dealer services could almostdouble the time the computer states the next service is due in. This is becausethe viscosity of theengine oil is one of the main factors that determins when the computer says you need to next service your car.

I dont think it does. Its based on 13000 mile intervals.

Good point, it does seem like it is A & B distance based. I found this on a website (here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...1122905AAYlACG) for a CLK230 compressor....2003 model though, maybe it will work for yours too....

"hop in your car, shut the door. turn your key all the way, but do NOT start the engine. scroll through the buttons on the steering wheel until you get to the "next servie due" menu. now hold the adjustment **** on the left side of the cluster down (maybe right side) after about 5 to 10 seconds an new listing will come up on the menu and ask you to confirm by pressing and holding the same button, hold it down for about 5 seconds, until it beeps and your done, it should reset so your service A will be due in 13k.
hope this helps.

also as a side note, don't just reset it and not get atleast the oil changed. being a MB tech, i an say i have seen cases were people did that just to get it to stop coming up, and after a while im giving them a quote to rebuild there engine."

or

"off the top of my head i think its key in position2, go to service due screen then hold in button on the instrument cluster for 10 seconds, it should beep then be reset. also make sure driver door is closed when doing that."

or

"I have an 06 C230 and reset the service b using this set of instructions from "shan" in the general tech" forum... It worked great!
just clik here:

"

Hopefully some of those may work.....but make sure you look at the service details and do everything that is required!
