Default Newbie ... BMW fugitive ...

Hi all!
About to make the plunge ... Been driving BMW for the past 20 years and specifically X5 4.4 since 2000.
The ridiculous pricing policy of BMW Canada ( 30k more in CDNthan for a comparable US car as the CDN $ is worth $1.03US ), those ridiculously expensive and harsh runflat tires, the dealer insalled hitch ( ugly bumper cutout ),theconfusing options packaging and the non availabity in CDN of diesel before 08/12are driving me directly into MB arms.
MB Canada hasn't reduce it's base price but now includes more optionsas standard features, hence a "reduction".
At the same time BMW CDN is giving a $ 2,500 cash back if you buy a 2008X5;if you lease, they dropped the APR form 6.9% to 5.9% but decreased the residual ( ??? ) hence a more expensive mensuality !
Go figure ...

I am about to sign on the dotted line for a 2008 ML 320 ...
Two big moves: BMW to MB and gaz to diesel ( looking for torque, must pull a 5,550 lbs boat ).

Any common "known" issues with those ML that I should be aware of ?
Any "known" issues with the diesel in particular?
Options to avoid or must get?

Thanks for your input,

Billjet
