Happy to be a part of this forum, although I would be less than honest if I didn't admit my motives are more to get rid of some parts/cars than to fix and repair the vehicles I have.

I have a 1984 300SD from which many usable parts may be had, or it could be sold as a parts car. The cylinder head and nearly everything under the hood is recoverable, block is warped, auto transmission still solid. I hadn't started it in about five years, but as expected, I was able to charge the battery and it turned right over. There's a story behind this car and how it got to its current state, but I'll save that for another thread.

I also have a 1982 240D, engine is shot, body is in good shape, even under the several layers of dust. The auto transmission is good, and I have a separate 4-speed manual transmission for it.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be told not to hock parts in the new member area, but this is my introduction. I look forward to hearing from fellow enthusiasts...
