Hi all,
Just joined the forum and I'm sort of restoring a 1990 build W124/300D-Automatic.
There are quite a lot of things the latest owner has left abandoned, but after a few weeks with not to many hours of free time, the most important things are working and there is no comparison with other cars as the comfort of driving this one. The only noise the wind!!
I hope to be able to pick your brains a bit to solve some of the other failures I still have to fix. One being that the fuse "C circuit" is discharging the battery in a week if you don't use the car and with everything switched of and doors closed (central locking) still draining about 0.6A out of the battery. The electric antenna is still lying on my workbench as it is also faulty so that can't the culprit and the main suspect is the central locking itself(no electrically adjustable chairs). Another thing is the gauge of the tank contents only indicate 50% with a full tank so... sender or instrument...? If anyone has already build up experience with this sort of items, as in where they are located and what to do to fix, I'm open for suggestions.
Thanks, Joseph.
