I just purchased my first Mercedes on Friday, its a 1985 300d with well over 300k on it (true mileage is unknown due to broken odometer) I read up on this and a couple other forums and made a checklist of everything to look for and it passed with flying colors. The man who owned it before had kept all of the rocords since he had purchased it and he also had all of the records from the first owner. (making me the third owner) It is burgandy/maroonish in color with the tan leather. I also installed a Sony headunit in it today and the sound quality is amazing for such an old vehicle. I will post up pictures as soon as I get the chance.
