Hey ya'll. I'm Josiah. Since my brother brought home an '85 300dt in February, I've fallen in love with classic MB's, especially the w123 and w114/115 chassis. I'm currently in contact with a gentleman near me that's selling a '72 220 petrol. It seems to be in very good shape minus needing brakes, exhaust, and an inspection; otherwise, the body and interior look to be in fantastic condition. He's asking $1000/obo. I want to offer $800 but would like to know as much about the model as possible before I jump into ownership.

So... What do I need to check? Mechanically, physically, etc... Thank you in advance!
