Hi.
I am J-D. Sauser.
I have a 2006 MB CLS500 (W219).
I travel a lot abroad, am fluent in English, German, French and Spanish.
I've grown up around US muscle cars and then, in 1989 I bought my first Mercedes... a 10 year old S2180 (W116), that was in Germany. It had 200T Miles on it... just changed the oil and checked the water... NEVER an issue.
Later, in Switzerland, I had the same experience with a W126. WHAT a car. NEVER a problem.
Then a 1994 CL500 (W140)... a moving construction site, as I came to call it. NEVER got EVERYTHING to work all at the same time. That was in Spain.
Now in Florida, I got that CLS with very low miles... and, yes... it's acting up...
So, may I move on to the technical Forum?
Thanks! ... J-D.

Hello J-D
Welcome to the United States of America.Unlike yourself,i am a new owner of a 1991 350 SDL (W126).Car so far is nothing short of Awesome!.I think from being experienced in the automotive industry,i would suggest sticking with an older Benz, rather than a newer one.Unless you are well versed in automotive electronics. Most Foreign and Domestics cars of today are merely "Rolling Computers",and the headaches that come with them when they start acting up.Whatever happen to simple, like using a key to open and lock your doors,or just putting the key in the ignition without having a computer read your key.I hope this doesn't make me an "Old Fashioned Person".I guess i just don't see the need to over complicate an automobile. When that is done,it is a recipe for problems in the future.Let me get off my Soap Box.I hope all works out well with your new Benz.Im sure someone will be able to help you.Cheers M8.
