Hi to all I just joined this forum. I have used a forum before so if I make a mistake just let me know thanks. I have 2 cars 79 300cd has 120,000 and a 97 e 420 has 130,000 I do not drive them enough maybe 500 miles a year each. My question is the 79 used to get 32 miles to the gallon now gets 16 mph. It runs fine but does not get the mpg. I assume it is because I do not drive it enough but would that hurt the mpg that much? Next the 97 sometimes shifts a little harder into second gear. I read that was always a problem. What can be done to make that shifting smother thanks for any help.
