Just picked up a 2017 Diamond Silver Metallic e400 wagon, Luxury package, This is my 9th Station wagon; 2 Audi A6's -1997 & 2003; 1986 Volvo 740; Mid 80's with wood grain, of course, 2 Colony Parks 1989 (new) 1985 purchase 2015; 2 Pontiac Grand safari 1978 & 1982 and a 1982 Olds Ciera.
My wife and I never went the mini van route and for a long time both drove wagons.
Had the unfortunate incident where my Audi A5 Cabriolet ran over road debris and totaled out the engine, intercooler; radiator and oil pan, so in the market for a new car - wanted a wagon again. Asked the BETTER HALF if I could get another 80's wagon and have it modernized. answer was a quick and solid NO.
Looked at and test drove Volvo V90 (not a Cross Country) nice but felt tight; then test drove a E400 and that was it! Had to be certified with less than 40,000 miles and not AMG ( not in budget) incredibly far and few avail. Flew to pick it up last Friday and drove the 450 miles back home, it was amazing, ate up miles without beating me up.
This is our 4th Mercedes going back to a 1970 280sl (worst car ever owned); 2008 CLK350 - great till it snowed; 2010 ML350 - still have and it's great - now the wagon.

Live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, so snow is real.
