Hi all. I'm new to the forum and I don't own a Mercedes. I joined the forum because I want to buy a Mercedes and I figured there would be plenty of real MB enthusiasts here who could convince me that buying a MB is a wise decision. I've never owned a luxury car but am now able to afford one and have been looking at my options. MB has, to me, always been the quintessential "Luxury Car" (excluding Rolls, Bently and the exotics).

I drive a lot in my job (6,000+ miles per month) and have to have a car that is rock solid dependable. I narrowed my choice to the MB 320 Blu-Tec or one of the Lexus models. I really really want to choose the MB but am apprehensive about the reliability of the car. I'm hoping that you guys can tell me that the recent MB quality issues have been resolved and that the MB is a much better choice. The most recent Consumer Reports reliability ratings, however, show the Lexus as 75% better than average and the MB E class as 75% worse than average (even lower than Jaguar XJ and Jaguar S-Type!). This has put a damper on my enthusiasm and that's why I'm here. I figured that a forum for MB enthusiasts would be the best place to go for a pep talk on buying the MB. So, please, tell me that buying the MB is the right decision!!!
