Default Navgation CD's?

Hi, My 2003 S55 didn't come with the Navi CD's. Can anyone point me to the right source to get those CD's? Or you guys think the dealer is the way to go... I know it's goign to cost me a pretty penny if I went with the subscription at the dealer. Thx.

Default RE: Navgation CD's?

Forget the dealer. They charge way too miuch for the disks. Try eBay. There are always NAV disks up for sale. Just get a part number from your MB dealer to be sure about compatibillity. THere were at least two different versions of the navigation system in that time frame that were not interchangeable. I have an 02 which uses what they refer to as the "fifth generation GPS/Nav" (or something like that). I believe you'd be OK with any CD with a manufacturing date of 01 or later. I believe 99 was a cutover year for compatibility. All later CDs should be OK up through current production since they went DVD in newer vehicles rather than to upgrade the functionality of the CD system.

If you don't find it on eBay, try Craigslist for your metro area. That's been a pretty good source for me as well, but the good deals are fewer and further between.
