Default Im new!

Hello MBForum! My name is Mischa. I`m from S-Petersburg, Russia.
I dont have mercedes like many of you already do. But I`m going to buy it in 3 months.
Due to high income taxes in Russia (over 50% of car price) Ive chesen E220CDI (or simply diesel) 97-99!
I want some information about it because diesel engines are not so popular in russia than in europe.
Tell me where can i read a little bit about it

GREETINGS FROM WISCONSIN, USA, VERY COLD WINTERS. CONGRATULATIONS. IF YOU GIVE YOUR NEW BENZ A LITTLE TLC(TENDER LOVING CARE) IN THE BEGINNING, IT WILL PAY OFF IN THE LONG RUN. MOSTLY THOSE FRIGID WINTERS YOU HAVE. MY 2 300DT"S SIT OUTSIDE ALL WINTER- AND NEVER FAIL ME. OF COURSE YOU HAVE A BLOCK HEATER, NEXT BE SURE AND PUT SYNTHETIC OIL, LIKE 10-40 OR WHATEVER IS APPROPIATE FOR YOUR CLIMATE. IT WILL LAST 4 TIMES LONGER AND NOT FREEZE UP. BUY YOUR OIL, FUEL,AIR FILTERS ON EBAY, JOELTEC IS GOOD. THE MAINTANCE IS EASY IF YOU BUY A MANUAL AND MAKE FRIENDS WITH OTHERS.NEW GLOW PLUGS ARE INEXPENSIVE AND GREAT PREVENTIVE MAINTANCE. WE HAVE A COMMERCIAL HERE ON TV,YOU CAN PAY ME NOW, OR A LOT LATER. DO NOT WAIT TILL IT BREAKS,ASSUME IT NEEDS REPLACING BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW . PENNY WISE AND POUND FOOLISH AS BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SAID. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO DO YOUR OWN MAINTANCE, YOU CAN ALWAYS PAY SOMEONE ELSE LATER.REMEMBER 300,000 PLUS MILES ARE AVERAGE, GOOD LUCK AND DOESSAVANIEY AA, OH YES, MIGHT AS WELL GET A NEW 1000 COLD CRANKING AMP BATTERY NOW, BE WISE, BE SURE. GOOD LUCK, TED ERICKSON, TEDTR6@HOTMAIL.COM

Welcome Mischa,
I wish you all the best with your Mercedes when you buy it.For many years I had wanted to visit St Petersburg so in 1999 I was able to scrape up the money and enjoy a too short a visit to your great city.I did all the usual tourist things but would have liked to have been able to spend more time there and see more of it.I did visit the cemetery at the Alexander Nevsky monastary and was given a bronze token with an image of a rose with a broken stem on it.This rose with the broken stem has intrigued me as I am sure there is an interesting story behind it.I have been unable to find out anything about it though, and I would appreciate it if you could help.I know this is off topic but I have tried many sources without success.Thank you.
regards, John.

Thank you Mischa for taking the trouble to ask your friends for me.I will keep researching. There are so many things in all cultures that have interesting little human stories behind them, and the rose with the broken stem is one of them that fascinates me.I would like to compliment you for excellent English as well.
Regards John.
