Hi there from Spain
Hi there from Spain.
Having owned a 190E 2,3-16v Cosworth for 5 years without major fault I have just bought my first A class, a A170 CDi Elegance Auto lwb in silver with the factory sun roof.
The car came from Germany second hand via a dealer and this is the best way to do it here as all second hand cars sold this way must have a 12 month 100% warranty by law, buy privately and you could be in the do-do pretty quickly and Spanish second hand cars are both expensive and beat up, I don't know what the rest of Spain's like but here in the South there is a total disrespect for other peoples cars and banging doors into it and playing dodgems when parking is normal, Ah "pasa nada".
I first drove an A class three years ago in the UK as an Easy-rental hire car and I loved it so when the time came to pension off the Cossie I looked a the A class and decided a low mileage (95000Km) car between 2001 and 2003 would result in a good compromise in age, mileage etc but still new enough to be "new" to me. I think buying a "new" car from a dealer is a mugs game with over 20% off the value before you clear the forecourt.
I worked in the car accessory installation business for 11 years prior to coming to Spain in 1999 and am certified by Clifford, Cobra, Serpi Star (Gamel), Moss, Philips, Tracker and a Pioneer blue chip installer too.
I am Chair and webmaster of the Eagle Owner's Club in the UK which caters for owners of... Eagle kit cars, I have a black VW based SS with a 1641cc costumed stage 3 engine. The name Ukhozi comes from the Zulu for eagle.
