wow, what site. Never have i seen a forum filled with such intelligent, aware individuals! i remember my mom's 1968 MB that my Dad always worked on- we had a green parts car and all. (this was 1982). Now that i am all growed up, actually the same age as my Dad was, i figured it was time. What a tinme i have had so far. Got a 76 300. the round headlights got me. It threw a drive shaft, and was apparently tweaked. So, i stripped it down and got another, with an-ahem- "blown motor" . yeah right. couldn't get the motor goin, though, soo- swappy fun time(into another 300d of the same vintage). On the same deal, i scored a 240d! all it needed was a few presses on the primer pump and shi-zang, best car i have ever had the privledge of driving. won't disclose figures but, basically i am currentlyinto mb's for about $2500(what a deal), not to mention the blood, sweat and tears,but plan on driving them until i reach the $.04/mile mark before i pass them on to my heirs.love them. love you all, my fellow benzers! thank you for the great advice here and hope i can one day contribute! hail Germany!!!!!!
