Hello from a UK Merc owner. Just bought an 89 500sel, 1st Merc, and just need a few bits of information such as has anyone changed the head gaskets on these cars before!!!
I bought the car as a bit of a project and so wondered if anyone has the start to finish idiots guide to cylinder head removal?

Welcome aboard. Here in the colonies we generally don't refer to Mercedes cars as Mercs, as Mercs are usually Mercury automobiles by Ford. I visited the UK several times back in the late 60's and I loved it. I haven't had a good kidney pie since then, or real fish and chips for that matter either. Do they still have street vendors who serve them in newspapers?
