Hello, Sorry for the Login in name. As I get older I find that having one User name that I can use across the Web is very convenient!

I am not a M-B owner yet. I am thinking about purchasing a 1988, 300 SEL. I love the body style - I think it's one of M-B's best, and although some may not think so - I have wanted to own a "classic." I have had a some time to look over the car, but I will have more time this weekend.

Here are some details: The car is in good condition. The paint - similar to a bronze color - is not in the best of condition - not because of mis-treatment, just age. The interior is in excellent condition and the engine, may need to have its gaskets replaced soon and the heater core may have a leak.

My question is:

*What issues should I be looking for?
*What can I expect with the model?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
