Well I wouldn't without asking first but then if someone strenuosly objected I think I would say thanks and walk away. After all what have they got to hide unless they are misrepresenting their vehicle.

Maybe its a good thing I don't have gonads (though I have been accused of having rather large ones at times )

You're dealing with a bunch of cavemen with gonads. They assume everyone has them. They have decent hearts, though.
