Just had service d on my 03 e320. I have 40k on it, but it is 5 years old, so I elected to have the fuel filter and plugs replaced. The day I picked it up, and ever since (1 month), when I fill the tank, it is one bar short of full on the fuel gauge, which worked fine prior to service. Today on the way to work goes as follows: Start car, gauge = 1/4 tank, 20 miles later fuel light is on and three miles to empty. pull into work, figure I will get gas at lunch. Lunch time, get in car, gauge = 1/4 tank?????? Drive two blocks and no gas, dead in middle of busy street, gauge = 1/4 tank. Dump two gallons in tank, car starts up, gauge = 1/2 tank. Go fill up and again, one bar short of full. What could have happend with service to cause this??? Please help, more fun to drive than push.
