Default CLK AUTO TRANSMISSION PROBLEM

Hello everyone,
I have recently bought a 2000 CLK 230. I had it cleaned and found it was locked
in Park and wouldnt go into reverse. Finally got it out of Park and on driving it
away found it was now stuck in Emergency/safe mode.I have been told this could
be a Gearbox selector module problem.Has anyone had this problem? If so, can the
Emergency mode be erased/reprogrammed and is this a simple job?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Default Safe Mode on CLK 200

Hi

Just want to be sure before I go to a garage that my CLK 200 is in safe mode:

I had just come off the motorway after doing around 100mph for 40mins or so and braked normally at a roundabout, but then a car came quickly out of another off ramp and had to break again quickly after first starting to accelerate. After car had passed I accelerated again but his time it was very very slow. It got back to normal in 10 secs or so until I reached the next crossroads and it did it again like it was in 3rd or higher then back to normal shifting until the next two stops where it happen both times.

Finally pulled up out side my house and put it in park while opening the gates, got back in and lever was stuck in park. I released it manually and it allowed me to reverse and drive in what seems to be 1st and 2nd. There are no warning lights on and the display says No Malfunction. No leaks from under the car.

The brake lights are working also, so I'm thinking it might not be the Brake light Switch even though the braking did seem to be the cause of the problem.

Is it possible that it might be the break light switch even if the break lights are working?

Thanks to anyone who replies
