Back in the Real World
Here I am, with another Mercedes Benz. If only this forum was around when I first joined this group of happy owners in 1967 with the Australian built 190C (complete with slightly faded green duco). Many trips into the mountains and sailing holidays later (the 190C had a really big trunk), along came an almost new maroon 190C which became our wedding car in 1969 (actually two-my new wife's boss had one as well). After we sold the car (for a deposit on a house) the 190C went on to be a Concours winner at the MB Car Club in Melbourne Australia.
The next Benz was a stately S series (1966 vintage) in German racing white, which was the family transport until 1988 when reason prevailed and a Ford station wagon became the family hack.
But we are back in the fold with a sparkling white CLK230 Cabriolet (the family is grown and can buy their own Benz!).
I look forward to sharing with you in the Forum.
Merry Christmas!
