HELP!!!!!!!!![Frown](https://mercedesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
On my 1998 ML320 when the brakes are applied I get bad static on my AM radio stations.
It seems to be worse as the brakes are initally applied and as they are being let off. It happens at all speeds and conditions.[X(]
I am not noticing any braking problems.![EEK!](https://mercedesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Initally it was only the staic but now at times I also get a idiot light on the panel that flashes sporatically. It is the "brake pads worn down light".[&o]
The static started about 2 or 3 weeks ago and the light about one week ago.[X(]
Question is: Could the staic be caused by the brake pads or is there something elso???????
I would apreciate any help.![Big Grin](https://mercedesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Thanks![Smile](https://mercedesforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

it is caused by the brake pad wear sensor rubbing against the rotor. replace the brake pads, or remove the wear sensor, that should cure the problem of the static.

Also any good web sites to purchase pads???
Thanks

Just look upon the board here, and you'll find many sponsors that deal with MB Performance and Replacement Parts. The other option is Google. But welcome to the forum.

Repaced the front brake pads, was actually quite easy to do. This solved the problem with the static on the radio. Be sure that your new pads come iwth the steel guides.
