I was looking for some help with my Euro model 300D. It's a 1983 non-turbo, gray market...

Parts houses give me a funny look when I try to get parts for my car, and I recently bought an air filter from an online outfit that doesn't fit. Same diameter, too tall.

I am looking for a replacement airfilter for a Mahle 264 and the one they sent me is a replacement for a 284...

Any ideas where I could get some help with my problems?

If I don't get an answer from this intro post I guess I'll start a thread on it in the diesel area.

Anyhow, the weather in my part of the world is beautiful, 70s and sunny.

You folks in the middle of the USA have my sympathy. I am not gloating...honest.
