An friend of mine has a 1989 MB 420 SEL for sale I am considering buying. It's $3,000. It's in excellent condition-127,000 Miles
He is a Mercedes enthusiast and has oenwd 4-5 of this model year. He has had it for 4 years and had no problems (he says...)
Just looking for some input on the basics- Are they very exspensive to fix- etc.. Any input is appreciated-

You haven't stated anything about whether the vehicle comes with service records, what optional equipment is has, the color, what geographic location; without these things it would be an unfair assessment of the value.

Thanks fo the reply- I will be finding out more details- It's Red and lives in Chicago. No rust though- May have lived out of state the first 14 years-

Excellent condition, it could command a sales price between 3 to 4k and perhaps some change. But that's with it being in excellent condition, which also include service records. This info is according to Kelly Blue Book and Edmunds respectively.
