I have to choose between putting $3000 into fixing up a 1987 420SEL with 285,000 miles, versus putting $3000 into fixing up a 1989 300SE with 133,000 miles. Which car would be the better one to keep in the long run?

 

I am going to be an owner of a 91 420SEL tomorrow, and I have been looking at these beauties for a while now. From what I have seen, you're better off buying a newer SEL for that type of money :P They are not that expensive.

 

SEL Hands down. One of MB greatest masterpieces. One of the smoothest cars I have ever owned!
