I cant seem to find any info on the problem i have mentioned previously must be a difficult one erratic idle for 1st 2mins when cold & bad starting if left for 5mins hot (all times approx )
I have bought a diagnostic kit by tacho pro ,to do other vehicle related stuff .it comes with odb2 bmw merc & 2x2 vag connectors .will the merc one fit my old 230te? .Anyone know where i can locate a test procedure for this problem .I used to work for mercedes dealership on commercials & they used to be really good at supplying procedures for routing out these sort of problems .

OBD II is for '96 and later cars. You don't say how "old" your car is.

 

hi its a 1987 w124 230te auto . i was wondering if the merc plug that i'm getting with this kit will do the job .If not is there any diagnostic equipment that links with this car ,via the multi pin conn r on the right hand inner wing.
