I am thinking about purchasing a 2000 E320. I have never owned a Mercedes before, and this car is for my wife. I am trying not to get a problem car, because it will cause me grief at home, if you know what I mean. Anyway, the car has what seems to be a few minor problems that I know about. The front passenger seat will go forward with the power button, but not backwards. The vanity compartment below the radio/cd player will not stay shut. Are these potentially expensive problems? Additionally, how much should the front and rear brake pads have on them before needing replacement? The fronts have about a quarter of an inch.
