1989 420sel fuel distributor

1989 420sel fuel distributor
I just bought a 1989 420sel. I bought this car because of the deal I got on it. The shop I took it to said the fuel was stopping at the fuel distributor. I have worked on all my cars my whole life. But this Car being the first car I've owned that has a fuel distributor I'm stumped. Also when I go to turn the car over it turns very weak. I checked the battery and it's as strong as it's going to get. Any advise on what I should look at first. And any advice on rebuilding the fuel distributor. Any and all help is appreciated!
