Hello, I have an 83 SD with 174K miles on it, all original down to the paint. I need some help in finding out the following:
1. Seats, my front seat is lame, and I don't want to try to fix the broken springs. I see that some older models ( s Class) seem to work, but I can't be sure unless someone has done it already...??? Anybody got that problem too??

2. I was told that 84 and 85 sd's have a smaller water pump pulley. I measured the one I have , and it matches the size of mercedes part#6172050510 which is thew 84 and 85 pulley measuring 17.5 CM. So, either i have an 84/85 pulley already, or??

Anybody have this issue??

ForcedInduction....I already got the fan, and since I can't find one except for the dealer, I might just pass. FYI, I experience high temps as in 100c plus up to 120c, and in tearing into my cooling sys, I found my thermostat was NOT seating on the back side like it was supposed to, it had been bent, so the coolant that was supposed to go to radiator, was recirculating partly back through the block.....I expect great things afer I get the had off, get the valves done, and back together.......I'll post pics tomorrow..

 

I found a nice seat out of a 91 560SEC, and am going to take apart the lower end and put it on the tracks on my SD.

I am trying to fine the smaller water pump pulley for my 83 sd. The 84/85s have a smaller one, can anybody tell me where i can find one used?
