Greetings: I have an 85-year-old neighbor with an always-garaged 1983 380SL. It is in excellent shape but the transmission is slipping. I would like to save him some money by removing the transmission and taking it to a well-regarded rebuild shop in my area (won't be doing the rebuilding myself, just the removal/reinstallation). Can someone suggest a source for removal information? The aftermarket manuals I have seen are no help and the CD service manual he has for the car does not cover transmission removal. I don't much like CD manuals but would get one if it covers what I need. I haven't seen factory manuals in book form but assume they are available but pricey. Would be glad to pay for someone to send me relevant info from factory manual or whatever you folks use yourselves. Thanks from a new member of the Forum. Ralph Boineau
