02 ml amg wont start

when i turn key it cranks only when i let go of the key it springs back and still cranks i need to turn key back to lock to stop cranking.this is only when it wont start 1 in 30 times

need help need some info the old lady is on the side of the road.I do need help with this problem thank you.

sounds like a case of non working immobilizer...

either it's the key or the immobilizer module, could also be the receiver...

do you have a spare key to try ?

thank you for the help.could this make the starter keep cranking in the run position.and not stop cranking till i turn the key to the lock position.thank you again i will try the spare key for now.
