having major probs with my slk 98 kompressor,when cold is missfiring feels like there is no choke !clears itself when warmed up,when you floor throttle it coughs and splutters,eventually drops gears but doesnt seem to gain speed very quickly,anybody any ideas too what problem is.

 

check engine trouble codes.
Possibly lambda / O2 sensor. Had the same problem.
Could also be dirty MAF.

 

With luck 90% leaning towards the MAF.as it is the easiest item to play with.

Firstly give it a BIG spray soak of MAF or contact cleaner.
Shake dry.
MAF insert can be removed by undoing the 2 torx headed self tappers on the maf body

If that helps or you buy anew one ENSURE it IS a BOSCH insert with same numbers as yours. A lot of generic NON bosch that dont work.
