slk 230 1999 automatic fault

Hi there,i've just bought a slk 230 komp 1999 and the automatic gearbox will only go into 1st and reverse,anyone have any ideas for solution,fully apprieciated,thanks Des

It may be in limp mode.

Des,
Are you gettingC.E.L. or any other lights on dash coming on?? Check fluid.. Bazzle has a greatthread to make your own transmission dipstick which dealer calls a "tool" and wants 60 bucks for..
