Hi, new to this forum. I have a 2002 slk 230, I just noticed the rear view mirror is yellow with a normal clear oval in the middle!! anyone know what's going on? it wasn't like this a few days ago....it still reflects...just dimmed on the yellow and normal/bright on the oval part...strange!!

 

Its U.V. rays.. try sp5 sunblock..

 

I notice it tonight and appears to be permanent and irritating......anyway to remove that yellow? sunblock?

 

Presumably it is an auto dimming mirror.
If so the glass (reflective surface) is defective. This is a liquid crystal device and changes state when an electric current is connected.
The LC is damaged.
You need a new mirror glass.
