Have the dealer look at the CPS, Also remove the K40 relay and look at the solider joints.

Coming in to this late, but I have the same with our SLK - ignition and everything else is on as normally expected, but no life to crank it over on a fully charged battery. Strangely, the radiator motor comes on when all electrics are on and I don't remember this occuring before the problem started. Where is the K40 relay located? Another thread talks about fuses in the wiring circuit outside the fuse boxes between the ignition barrel and starter, where would this be?

I had the same exact problem, intermittent stalling and it could not be duplicated. Yesterday the car would not finally crank with a good battery. I start searching and found this along with your post.

I just did this today and it fixed the problem! As soon as i looked at the solder joint and I said "ah ha" It is a very easy job.

"Bazzle's excellent guide to repairing the soldering on this module at:
http://www.slkworld.com/slk-r170-gen...ay-module.html "

I hope this helps everyone else looking.
