Hi,

we seem to have a bad light bulb on our 1998 SLK 230 Compressor behind the climate controls, the entire upper section (above the radio) is dark. How do I remove the center console cover to change that bulb? Sorry, I don't have an assembly manual (yet)

you will need to get a couple of stereo removal keys. you'll see a small slot for them on each lower side of the unit. once removed there will be a couple screws. there may be or maybe not a couple of screws under the cupholder. mine has a place for them but aren't there so I didn't have to remove the cup holder. the bottom switches can stay attached to the simulated carbon fiber surround. be careful not to break your surround. The ***** come off hard to replace the lights under them. in your case test the lights, it's unusual that both lights would be out at the same time, but not impossible.
