I have a beautiful, low-mileage '98, bought new. But the gray color on the center console and armrests is wearing off and showing the black color underneath. Any suggestions on how to make it look good again will be deeply appreciated.

 

use Armor all whipes. They bring out the cars rich interior. You can find it at almost any store. Target, Advanced Auto, O Riles, Auto Zone, Napa, ect.

 

There is a supplier out of Australia called Viponds who sells the rubberized paint to touch-up redo the interior. Stuff is not cheap and that's why I haven't bought it yet although I do plan to since a friend also has the same problem and we plan to share the cost. In the meantime, I have taken #400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and sanded down the exposed black plastic. That takes the black sheen off and it more nearly matches the grey rubber. Good luck.
