I was thinking about replacing the Headlamps in my 1998 SLK-230, but
wonder if these new High Intensity Lamps have the same High/Low
Intensity beams as the stock Lamp ?

Looking at the Catalogs on line it's not clear that they do and I don't
want to spend money for nothing.

What do you folks use when replacing the stock Lamp with a High
Intensity one ?

I'm assuming you mean like the HID headlights? I'd stick with the OEM halogens unless you were thinking about retrofitting in a set of xenons.
