Default High Beam Indicator went out

Has anyone ever changed any of the indicators on the dash. My high beam indicator stopped working and I'd love to get it back if it's not too involved.

Thanks

yup the bulbs can be replaced, its just a matter of getting to them. the SLK had the hardest cluster to remove out of any Benz. if you get the cluster out you can get the bulbs. but you might have to get them from the dealer.

you have to drop the lower half of the dash by removing the screws underneath. use a mirror with a flashlight to find them. one in the knee pad on the right side way up in a hole. one in a squared slot just behind that screw and off to the left a bit. one by the hood release. the others underneath are easy enough to see. remove a screw at the top and inside of the vent, pry the vent light switch cover off and remove the screws that hold the illumination module to the dash. use a butter knife with tape on the tip, if you don't have the proper tools, to keep from scratching dash parts. open the dash side panel, the panel with the large flat head plastic screws, and remove screws to the dash parts above and one below to the rear of the fuse panel. remove the u shaped cover just under the steering column and remove the two screws there. you must be very careful with these dash parts, they are very brittle. pull down on the lower portion of the dash. this will expose the screws for the instrument cluster cover. there are four clips at the top off the cover, use your wedge or butter knife go down between the dash and the cover to unclip. careful, careful, careful. now the book says you have to remove the streering wheel to remove the cluster to access the bulbs. however, I was able to pull it out just enough to reach behind and remove the the bulb with an aligator clip or the proper merc tool made for that purpose. Just use a mirror and a flashlight before you go in, so you can see what you're up against. cover your streering wheel with a towel so the cluster doesn't scratch it. if you take it in, it shouldn't take someone who knows what they are doing more than a hour and a half tops.
