Default Help please!!! Radiator fan goes balistic!!

Hi all,

Im a newbie who is having a bit of trouble with my 2006 slk350.

Recently the engine management light has been on and it has been diagnosed as improbable thermostat reading!! i have booked in to get the thermostat replaced in two weeks time!!

a few weeks after the light came on however, i had the additional problem of the radiator fan going ballistic once the car is switched off and out of ignition!! this seems to only happen when its wet though!! this keeps draining the battery so i have unplugged the fan for the time being, but im a bit worried about the car over heating!!!

please please please help!!!! its driving me nuts!!!

many thanks

It's probably the blower motor resistor/regulator and likely on top of the fan housing. I'm not sure on 2006, too new for me but that's common on the older SLK's. Just a word of warning, it's an MB part, don't expect it to be inexpensive or well designed/made.
