Help!
Good News? 1125 USD!
I still suspect that the sensorS (note plural) were not faulty although one may have been. Without seeing the waveform will will not know whether it was.
Disturbing the O2 sensor connection in order to plug in the new sensor may have been all that was needed.
On the other hand maybe one sensor was bad. This type of diagnosis can never be 100%.
Anyway your problem is now resolved.

291 USD. Thats better but why didn't you swap them over and you would then have been 100% sure that one was faulty. Fault codes would have changed as problem would have moved from Bank 1 to Bank 2 if the sensor was faulty.

I would INSPECT but unless any damage or surface ozone cracking is present leave well alone.
Non MB aftermarket parts are usually to a lower standard than OE parts. (Off course some may say that some manufacturers parts identified as "racing etc" are better) You may think changing is prudent but if the new hoses and belt are substandard you will make matter worse rather than better.

Chain or belt.
Most MB's have chains internal and lubricated by engine oil.
I've always considered "life" to be indefinite. Maybe somebody has better experience than I.
Water pumps! Now thats a different matter. Mine are going fine at 150k miles.
