Default headliner problem

i got into my car and i noticed the headliner was wrinkling around the front and side edges. i wasnt sure what it was. about a week later it kept getting worse so i took the headliner off (very easy all you do is put the top about half way back and there are 9 screws 3 on each side and 3 in the front) and i had a leak! hydrolic fluid from the top was leaking everytime i lowerd or raised my top. the dealer said it was very uncommmon and that they could fix it for about $1,000 thats with the new headliner. but i dont have the 1000 so i just went out and bout an new lock ( thats where its leaking out of the lock that locks the top in place) i installed it. it wasnt very hard the hard part was running the lines to the trunk. this part only cost $197 and i got the headliner recover for about $60

Default RE: headliner problem

After you installed the new lock did you have to bleed the air out of the hydaulic pump / hoses? I replaced the O-ring in the lock mechanism for $.25 for the same reason (cost) but now I have air in the lines this causes the red blinking light to come on every so often. I fix the problem by loosening the manual release screw on the pump and then tightening it back up.
