hi i have a 2000 slk 230 the engine management light keeps coming on .i have access to a star tester so iam able to turn it off when its turned off its ok for aprox 4 weeks then it comes on again .i have various fault codes which ill list but their not the same each time fist time i got p2036-001 secondary air injection malfunction [function chain ] air flow too low [p0410] alsop2015-001 s40/3 clutch pedal switch fault had thees codes on the first two times the last 2 times i got p201e-001 catalyic convertor effect insufficient [p0420] has anyone any clues to the probable cause the camshaft sensor is ok whith no oil going up the wires and there is no effect on performance when the light is on thanks PED

 

If I had to pick a part to repl I would start with O2 Sensor infront of the cat. To me it sounds like it might be going out and not reading the fast enough.

 

Ist thing I would do is the clean the MAF

hi cleaned the maf sensor yesterday also cleaned throtle body also cleaned the two valves from the cranck case piipe to the throttle body .someone said these go faulty cant see much to them started her up miss for a while then ok brought eng mang light on but i turned it off this morning so ill see what happens thanks for your help fingers crossed ped

 

i assumed you have cleared all the codes?
If so post up any new codes you get tomorrow if it doesnt work.
