Default CODE: P0170 & P1584

The 'check engine light' came on on my 1998 SLK 230. My mechanics read the code P1584 and P0170. What does these two codes mean?

I was wondering if someone has published a list of all fault codes. My check engine light is also on and off and on again. I have not pulled the codes yet. Good luck with yours.

You should be able to Google up a list. The OBDII codes are standardized. There are a few M-B specific codes, but not many.

I was able to google it up and P0170 says "intake leak, AIR system, fuel pressure/pump, injectors(s), EVAP canister purge valve, HO2S" With this, I don't know what it means. Which parts should I replace? What was the problem?

I wasn't able to get find P1584.

Got me. I was just telling BikerDrew he could Google up a list of codes.

Sounds like a few things could be wrong, all of which boils down to a leak somewhere in the air or fuel intake flows. Is the CEL light still on? Was it turned off by your mechanic and then it came back on?

Yes, my mechanics turned off the CEL, but it comes on again after 2-3 minutes after I drive off.
What would you recommend me to do?

P1584 - stop lamp switch. Do you know how much is it to replace?

You need to ask someone who knows their *** from a M-B. That would be... not me. Someone here can help, I'm sure.

So the leak is somewhere. Do you know what are the possible parts that may be associated with this?
