Check Engine light on SLK 230 2002
this may be the valve he's talking about. 002 140 68 60 it caused my cel problem. later on an intermittant cel, usually when idling for too long was cause by my air flow meter.
sounds obscene. the valve I'm talking about wouldn't cause the airflow sensor to go bad. is there any oil residue in the air duct running toward the airflow sensor from the air cleaner? if so, maybe the oil separator on top of the engine has a problem and that should run about $80. check with autohausaz.com for the cost of the airflow sensor. it is easy to replace. my valve that rusted up on the inside and cause my cel problem can be ordered from a dealer (I get my dealer parts at 503 454 5002 ask for Sam) and is located half way back on the engine's passenger side under the air duct running toward the back of the engine to the pump. look at the number on the valve with a flashlight to ID and I'd try that first if your duct to the airflow sensor is clean, it is a common problem.
