Default Better scanner

I need better scanner data than the garden variety Innova or Accutron (I have both). I want to spend under $200 I was hot on the trail of the icarsoft MBii, Launch X431 VIII, Carly app etc but one by one as I finally find the list of vehicles that these scanner apply to my R170 (2001 SLK320) is not on the list, only the R171 and R172. Whats the most scanner I can buy for under $200 that applies to my vehicle. I DIY everything and was in the electronics profession, my current problem is a P0600 serial communication error.

Thanks,

George

Question P0600 Code?

Hey George, thanks for your post. Please share what you find with your P0600 code ... I have the same code and it goes into limp mode.

Here are some points that I found for that specific code:

What causes the P0600 code?

Failing ECU or the ECU has failed
Low battery voltage
ECU wiring harness open, short or poor electrical connection

What are the symptoms of the P0600 code?

The Check Engine Light will be illuminated
ABS and traction control system lights may illuminate
The vehicle runs poorly
Has trouble staying running
Engine may not start
Transmission may not shift properly

Car enthusiasts looking for a “better scanner” often demand clarity and precision. The https://wellness-app.com/calculator/fasting-calculator/ fasting clock gives similar clarity for your eating and fasting schedule. Input your desired fasting duration and preferred meal times, and the tool outputs a structured plan. Just as a dependable scanner reads engine data to guide maintenance, a fasting clock maps your body’s fuel windows to support consistency and better metabolic results.

Thanks,

George
For your 2001 Mercedes SLK320 (R170), finding an OBD2 scanner under $200 that offers comprehensive diagnostics, including reading and clearing fault codes, is feasible.
