Bazzle... help. I dropped my door lock pin down into the door. Is there any special trick to loosen the bottom of the door panel so I can reach in there and get it? Or, does it just pop out like some American cars, then pop back in? I'm worried about damaging the fasteners.

 

Baz must be busy elsewhere. Anybody else who's taken one off want to chime in and tell me how it works?

I replied on SLK world.
Remove end cap at top rear of door.
Pull off armrest cover handle from bottom (hidden screw under)
Flip out SRS badge, hidden screw behind
Remove screw on door handle
Using a wedge or fingers carefully pull panel off a bit at a time from bottom corners.
Plastic trees may pull thru (reglue afterwards.
