Default What all 2 Do at 40?

My 1998 SL is coming close to the 40,000 mark. Can anyone please let me know what the scheduled maintenance should be done. I've heard it's the big one that includes replacing all anti-freeze, transmission & brake fluids. What's the usually cost on this massive undertaking??

Thanks in advance my Benz Brothers,
Elvis P.

If you're going to take it to a MB Dealership for the maintenance, then you'll be getting the "B Service" which at my dealership runs around $650.00. They replace everything from the interior dust filter for the a/c, plugs/wires/transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc.

Your car should have a maintenace booklet with it that describes the service. If you're not going to take it to a dealership and either do the work yourself and pay someone else, and don't have the maintenance schedule that came with your car then you can either call a dealership and ask them what all they will service at your b-service and then take it elsewhere to have the work done, or you can also register as an owner at www.mbusa.com. Once registered you may enter the "owner's online" section which also describes the maintenance schedule as well as other various information, downloads, etc.
