Default Water Leak into boot

Has anyone had a problem with water leaking into the boot and causing damage to the central locking system on a SL500 2003 model.
Would be very grateful to hear from anyone with information about this problem.

Default RE: Water Leak into boot

This is a design fault with the R230 SL. There is a redesigned seal for the boot but from the report I read it passes the dealer test but does not solve the problem. There is a what car reviewer who had the same problem the link below should take you to it. replacing the seal in the boot lide solved the problem for this driver.

hope that helps
best wishes

I have a 2003 SL500 and have an issue with the central locking system. As soon as I replace to fuse it blows. I made the mistake of washing the car before putting it away last fall and didn't realise I had water in the trunk. I'm sure it is moisture related. Apart from the pump in the system is there any other electrical component connecter to the fuse.?
